QUASI AMICI

Every two weeks, a group of Napoli’s supporters met a group of rivals from other teams and had them as their guests for the weekend. Sightseeing, anecdotes and a taste of the real city are the opening course to the real climax.

This TV format designed as branded content for Pasta Garofalo (the pasta brand sponsoring Napoli Football Club) and directed by Mario Amura run in an attempt to discover whether the supporters of different teams can become “almost friends” or not.

The success of "Quasi Amici"

"Quasi Amici" is not a reality show about football. It doesn't seek "talent", it doesn't fuel the emulation of champions or fandom, it doesn't make "victory" its driving force. It turns the camera towards what remains out of the spotlight in search of something that, according to the relentless chronicles on violence in stadiums, would seem irretrievably lost: the game itself. A healthy competitive spirit experienced from the perspective of adolescents, for whom the ball is an opportunity for growth and understanding of the world, of teamwork, of being together. And it's emblematic that it's precisely the city of Naples with its San Paolo stadium, its vibrant places, its humanity, its rituals, superstitions, and myths, its mysteries and icons, the beating heart of a meeting that makes the battle of faith in one's own team joyful and lightens it up.

The mission of

To restore football to its vitality, its beauty, and its innocence, are ordinary boys: heading stubbornly and contrary to a civilization that feeds the illusion of fame and "putting oneself in the spotlight" as the only success in life. "Quasi Amici" is a "slap" to the growing prejudice against football in the face of a fandom that increasingly degenerates into an incomprehensible guerrilla warfare between "enemy" factions, which tends to overshadow the champions on the field, reflecting a sport that is angry and antagonistic, adulterated by its industrial dimension, snatched away by big financial interests from the popular culture that has always experienced it as a formidable source of emotions. Football, saved by the kids.
